Our Story
I founded Sunflower Care Solutions on a simple belief, that people in our community deserve a real say in their supports, that support workers are a vital part of that community and should be treated that way, and that when workers are genuinely valued, the people they support feel it. After sixteen years serving with the Australian Federal Police and ACT Policing, I was ready to put that work into something I believed in deeply.
I have led neurodiversity work, mentored through the Australian Disability Network, and worked across disability, youth, drug and alcohol, and cyber safety - to name a few. I'm autistic and have ADHD myself, and so is my daughter, so understanding that people experience the world differently has never been theoretical for me.
The longer I worked, the harder it got to ignore what I was seeing. Simple support requests went unanswered, support workers were underpaid and undervalued. The system meant to help people felt broken and I didn't want to just point that out. I wanted to build something better.
So I did, Sunflower Care Solutions is the service I wished existed for my own family. Support built on real understanding, shaped around each person, and delivered by workers who are valued and paid properly, because good support depends on good people, and good people stay when they're looked after.
It's also why we care so much about the right match. Being understood, easily, without strain, matters enormously, especially for autistic people and anyone with sensory or communication differences. So we don't just send whoever's available. We match each person with workers who suit how they communicate and how they like to be supported.
The name? Sunflowers are bright and warm, I wanted the support we give to feel exactly like that.
Whether you're new to the NDIS or just looking for support that finally fits, I'd love to hear from you.
